Since 2002, the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) has held an annual week long campaign with the purpose of educating and increasing the awareness of improving patient healthcare safety. This year’s theme, Patient Safety 7/365, is a week to promote the idea that providing safe patient care is a constant everyday commitment.
This year’s Patient Safety Awareness Week takes place March 3rd through March 9th, 2013 as a 7 day campaign to recognize the time and effort to improve health care safety worldwide. Every year, the NPSF also addresses the Universal Patient Compact, which highlights the importance of patient-provider partnering and as well as encourages collaboration among community organizations, provider groups, and patient advocates.
The NPSF dedicates this year’s event to those health care providers who make that focused effort and dedication to improving the health care culture and patient care 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
