The University Hospital is the teaching hospital for the University of Michigan Medical School and School of Nursing.
The University Hospital is a 550-bed facility which opened in 1986, although the hospital used today is not the first to be affiliated with the university. 376 of the doctors who work for the University of Michigan Health System are among the top 5% of practicing physicians in the US.
